This wall art reminds me notebooks from Deaf messanger I have wrote about earlier. It is combination of collages and stencils used over it.

Future of the poster

Yesterday I went to the discussion about "Future of the poster" in Goethe Institute. The event was organized by Filip Blažek who is a redactor of Typo magazine and he invited graphic designer Jan Solpera, Robert V. Novák, Petr Bosák and Robert Jans. All five discussed what actually poster is, how big it should be, if there is something as decorative poster etc. I really like the different ideas of graphic designers from two generations. But one opinion was same for all of them: the poster is disappearing from the streets and in next few years will lose forever.

Zlínská školka architektury

Yesterday evening I went to the opening of exhibition "Zlín's kindergarden of architecture". It is a tradition held by an architect and a teacher Jan Čančík who were preparing these 8 exhibiting students for universities of architecture in the Czech Republic 4 or 5 years ago. Now when they are about to finish their studies, they organized this exhibition to show how day have improved.

Valdemar Andersen

I found this beautiful poster while I was writing my dissertation about Danish design. The artist is called Valdemar Andersen and is from Denmark. I have to say this is so far the second graphic design from Denmark from first half of 20. century I like (another is typography from Karina Petersen).

New friend

After the passed weekend I have chosen a brief which I will be working on for the rest of LP&C module. The funny thing is I actually didn't want to take this brief at the beginning, I was much more interested in final show and ISTD gardens. I toke the Conflict resolution project only to have minimal number of briefs. First of all I wanted to design some poster, t-shirt with typography design but when I got deeper, did brainstorming and started to arrange my ideas I realized by the end of previous week that this case is the most developed in my sketchbook.

I have chosen conflict between parents which influences their children by the fights, separation etc. I have created project with toys which help children to get over the hard period of their childhood.

ID občanský průkaz

Another good movie I have seen this week. The translation to english would be simply "ID". The story is set into the communist regime year 1975 and show how ridicules the life was. Even I am living in the Czech Republic with history which pissed me off fortunately I was enough lucky to be born only two years before 1989. My parents talked about their childhood and teenage age a lot but at the beginning I couldn't believe that actually something like this could happen. When I was growing up and people started to loos shame and fear a lot movies about ridicules communist regime where made and many of us born plus-minus 2 or 3 years around 1989 started to better understand the period.

Watching the movie I had my head full of question starting with Why? Why? and Why? ... People who were "normal" automatically became enemies of state. Talented people tried to escape behind the border of SSSR because sometimes they didn't get chance to continue to university. People were treated as animals - ridicules lines for meat and bananas, special licence to go for holiday, "Public Safe" police which should secure people but actually only dived them and the fact you couldn't believe to anybody. "What now for you seems so obvious we couldn't imagine to have" I started to understand this sentence more and more.
